Hello Summer 2012 - updated

It's official - summer is here.  And Amy & I wanted to update you on our next class.  We will be teaching at Scrapbook Daisies in Long Beach on July 28 (Saturday) from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM.  The sample is already at the store, so stop by and give it a peek.  The cost is $38.

.
Say hello to the summer of 2012 and celebrate with this 6x8 binder from Simple Stories.  There is room for over 6 -3x4,3 -4x4, 22 -4x6, 3 -5x7, and 6 -6x8 photos in this album.  That's 40 photos.  There are page protectors left so you can always add more if you like.  The mixed page protectors give you plenty of room for photos and embellishments of various sizes and we've included lots of cute die-cuts to help fill them as well.

Included in this kit:
  • the 6x8 Simple Stories album that comes with 3 Kraft dividers, mix and match divider page protectors, and album pages
  • another package of the 6x8 page protectors
  • a set of the memorabilia pockets to hold more of your treasures from the summer
  • Teresa Collins Everyday Moments collection pack
  • Teresa Collins Everyday Moments buttons
  • Teresa Collins Everyday Moments chipboard elements
  • Teresa Collins Everyday Moments layered stickers
  • Blue cardstock
  • Yellow cardstock
  • Clear bling
  • Twine
  • Buttons
  • Various other die-cuts
What you will need to put this album together:
Adhesive (tape runner and wet glue)
Glossy Accents (holds the buttons the best)
Scissors
Pop Dots
White paper or cardstock to make photo mats with for ease of assembly - there are 2 -4x6 and 3 -5x7 mats that you should bring with you to class

As with all our kits, the pages and embellishments have been pre-cut, stamped, and then organized in the order they will be used in the album (for ease in assembly) so be careful when removing them from the packaging.  And they include both photos and written instructions.

We look forward to seeing you in class.  If you can't make the class, but would like to order a kit, either email me direct (sallybasiliere@dareyousayit.com) or call Tony at Scrapbook Daisies (562/377-0302) to sign up.

WHAT???? No photos?

We had the best group of ladies in our Celebrate Spring 2012 class today.  They were amazing!!!  Amy brought Krispy Kreme doughnuts and I brought mini sized spice cupcakes with cream cheese frosting so we had plenty of sugar to keep us going.  But did I think to take any photos???  Oops.

So how about a picture of a cute pooch to make up for it?  LOL

I have 2 of the Celebrate Spring 2012 kits left if anyone would like to purchase one.  They are $38 plus shipping.  If you are local to Long Beach, I can always meet you to save you the postage.  Just email me at sallybasiliere@dareyousayit.com if you are interested.

Amy posted some more photos of the Celebrate Spring 2012 class on her Abstracts mixed with extracts blog, so I (with her permission) copied them over here for your viewing pleasure.

If you aren't local but would like to order a kit the cost is $38 plus shipping and handling.  You can email me at the address on the right side.  All class kits come pre-cut, pre-stamped and in the order of assembly.

Celebrate Spring 2012

As the school year winds down and summer is on the horizon we are celebrating Spring 2012 with a brand new class. This class includes a mini album unlike any we have made before. It is so thick that we had to use 2" book rings to bind it.  Amy & I would like to invite you to celebrate spring with us!

Create this super thick, colorful mini album that will hold over thirty of your favorite spring photos.  We will be teaching it at Scrapbook Daisies this Saturday (May 19) from 10AM - 1 PM.  The cost is $38.

This class will teach you to use resist canvas, mist, use embossing powder on die cuts, watercolor with ink and more.

As usual, our class kits are packed full of product. This kit includes: the full Lily Bee Buttercup line (paper, journaling cards, stickers, embellishments, you get it all!), a full package of Prima's resist canvas, a full package of Pink Paislee's mistable ribbon, two full packages of bling, die cuts, tags, and more! All class kits will be pre-cut and in order,  with a lot of the misting and stamping pre-done so you can focus on creating your album.

What you will need to put this album together:
Adhesive (tape runner and wet glue)
Ranger Glossy Accents (holds the canvas embellishments the best)
Hole Punch for the binding
Scissors
Paper trimmer
Pop Dots
White paper or cardstock to make photo mats with (you will need this to complete some of the pages)

We will also provide some yummy treats to keep you going!

If you are unable to attend class, kits will be available for purchase starting on May 19th at 10 AM.
Call or come by the store (sample is in the store for your viewing pleasure) to reserve your spot or kit today!

Hope to see you in class!

2012 Moments Captured

Amy was busy last week finishing up the designs, and I've been working all week kitting our 2nd class kit of this series.  We're teaching it this Sunday from 10AM - 1PM at Scrapbook Daisies.  The new time was requested by people according to Tony.  (I have heard from several of you that Sunday mornings are a bad time, so in the future, we will be sure to teach in the afternoon only on Sundays.)  There is a class that starts at 1:30 so unfortunately, we have to be out of there right on time.  But as with all our kits, we have both written and photo directions.  And if you are a "hands on" type person, just let me know when you will be at Daisies and I can drop off my pages with Tony and you can use them there to work on your pages.
If you can't make the class, but would like a kit, just call Tony to reserve one.  You can pick them up starting Sunday.  If you missed the first class, but would like a kit, email me and I can either bring it with me on Sunday or mail it to you.
We used the Lily Bee Handmade collection kit and some of the Double Dutch pages as well, along with cardstock, bling, and twine for these pages.  This class includes April, May, June, July and August.

Here's a little sneak peek of a couple of the pages:

Hope to see you tomorrow.

2nd Installment of our 12 Months Captured in 2012 Class

I'm so proud of myself.  I have actually added all my photos and journaling for the months of January and February in my 12 Months Captured in 2012 / Moments Captured album.

Our second installment of this class is April 1st from 10AM - 1PM at Scrapbook Daisies in Long Beach.  Stop by or give Tony a call to register today.  Unfortunately, there isn't a sample at the store yet, because we were waiting for the new Lily Bee product to arrive.  You can be sure that it will be the same quality that Amy always designs and the product is so worth the wait.  The cost of this class is $25 and includes the months of April, May, June, July and August.  (That includes 2 - 12x12 pages with the 6x12 journaling page for each month.)  Remember to bring your album (with your page protectors inserted) and the remaining items (chip pieces, word sheet and month stickers) from the last class.

If you can't make the class, reserve your kit with Tony and you can pick it up anytime starting April 1st.

If you missed the first installment, no worries.  We have several of the first kits still available.  Just email me directly at sallybasiliere@dareyousayit.com.  The cost of the first class is $38.

Oreo Cookie Turns 100 Today

Today is Oreo cookie's birthday. And it's not just any birthday; Oreo is turning the big 100. That means we have been twisting, licking, and dunking America's favorite cookie for an entire century.
According to The New York Times, it all started on March 6, 1912, when The National Biscuit Company sold its first Oreo sandwich cookies to S.C. Thuesen, a grocer in Hoboken, New Jersey — and the rest was history.

I saw this cupcake on Bakergirl's blog and if I wasn't trying to cut back, I would be tempted to give it a try.  Maybe one of you will and will let me know how wonderful it is.
